Our Team


Philip Trzynka

Pastor

Like so many other Lutherans, Pastor Phil Trzynka hails from Fort Wayne, Indiana. His father was a Lutheran Pastor and parochial school teacher in Lanesville, Indiana, Sherwood, Ohio, Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Winthrop, Minnesota.

Pastor Trzynka attended St. Francis University, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 1982 he entered Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, and upon graduating, accepted a call to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Otto, MO. He also served at Immanuel, Olivette, MO, and Prince of Peace Lutheran, Farmington Hills, MI before he transferred to the ELCA and accepted a position as interim pastor at Mission Lutheran Church, Laguna Niguel, CA.

Pastor Phil's last call was to Trinity Lower East Side in December of 1999. He and his partner, Brett Henry, were united in a Holy Union in October of 2006. They adopted a son, Joseph, in 2009.

Pastor Phil accepted his call at Christ the Lord Lutheran, Elgin beginning November 6.


Deaconess Andrea Delaney

Director of Children and Youth Ministry

Deaconess Andrea is a consecrated deaconess with the Lutheran Deaconess Association of Valparaiso, IN. She was consecrated June 1, 1997 and received a BA of Theology from Valparaiso University. She is also a certified Spiritual Director. Eventually, after the kids are through college, she plans on finishing her Masters of Theology. Her ministry settings have included, - a Catholic Worker home in Chicago’s south side, a parish is Louisville, KY serving as a Ministry Associate, a parish in Elkhart, IN serving as a children’s ministry director, Christ the Lord Lutheran and Holy Trinity in Elgin, IL.

In the midst of parish ministry her greatest joy is marrying her husband Mark in 1998, and the birth of her 3 daughters in 2000, 2002, and 2003. In her free time she enjoys reading, quilting, going to her daughters school events, and meeting with her deaconess sisters throughout the year.

She is glad to be combining the youth ministry of Holy Trinity and Christ the Lord and is excited about the many possibilities’ of this ministry.


Peggy Letourneau

Administrative Assistant

Peggy started her career in mainframe computer operations and has worked with computer software for many years with her most recent, and still current, work as a freelance website and graphic designer. She has worked with many different organizations and groups of people, which included administrative office-type work setting up marketing and data base software. Work in this area included, procedures needed to run the marketing software, marketing campaign setups, and office workflow procedures. Peggy holds a B.S. in Computer Science and a M.A. in Human Resource Development, both from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching Netflix series, reading, and posting nonsense on social media.


Jason Palmer

Director of Music

Jason comes to us with many years of experience in playing for worship and in directing church choirs, including nine years as director of music, senior organist, and choirmaster at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Aurora. Jason founded the Fox Valley Philharmonic and the Fox Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra, as well as serving as music director of the Fox Valley Festival Chorus. He has won awards for composition, and was honored by Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia as one of ten national award recipients for the advancement of music in America and contributions to music education. Jason holds a B.A. in Music from NIU, with a specialization in vocal music and choral conducting, as well as an M.B.A. with a concentration in Marketing. He and his wife Jamie make their home in Genoa.
